William H. Macy will direct and Lea Michele (Glee) and Kate Upton (The Other Woman) are confirmed to star in The Layover, a road trip sex comedy from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia writers David Hornsby and Lance Krall.

Macy will also star in the film, which is set up with Unified Pictures and Bron Studios.

“The minute I met Lea and Kate, the film began to focus for me. They are singular, ambitious, funny women in full. This is going to be fun,” said Macy.

Unified Pictures’ Keith Kjarval and Bron Studios’ Aaron L. Gilbert are producing, and Patricia Cox and Jason Cloth are executive producing.

“We’re delighted to be working again with Bill Macy on his new feature, which will showcase his comedic talents,” said producers Kjarval and Gilbert.

The Plot: Lea Michele and Kate Upton will play a pair of lifelong best friends who decide to avoid their problems by taking a vacation, only to find that their plane has been rerouted due to a hurricane warning. To make matters worse, the two friends find themselves in a hilarious battle for the same guy during an extended layover in St. Louis.
