Armie Hammer Discusses The Lone Ranger

Armie Hammer, best known for starring as the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network, tackles one of the two lead roles in Walt Disney Pictures’ The Lone Ranger. Hammer plays John Reid/The Lone Ranger in the Western directed by Gore Verbinski and co-starring Johnny Depp as Tonto, and in this video courtesy of Disney he talks about his reaction to being offered the role and the challenges of taking on the iconic character. He also discusses shooting on location, working with Johnny Depp, and being directed by Gore Verbinski.

The Plot:
 
From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ The Lone Ranger, an adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American warrior Tonto (Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
