Director Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, Michael Collins, End of the Affair) brings what looks to be one of the better vampire tales to the screen with the upcoming release of Byzantium. IFC Films picked up the thriller during the Toronto Film Festival and will release it on Video on Demand and in theaters on June 28, 2013.
The cast is led by Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan and includes Caleb Landry Jones, Danny Mays, Bradley James, Sam Riley, Jonny Lee Miller and Tom Hollander.
The Plot:
Two mysterious women seek refuge in a run-down coastal resort. Clara meets lonely Noel, who provides shelter in his deserted guesthouse, Byzantium. Schoolgirl Eleanor befriends Frank and tells him their lethal secret. They were born 200 years ago and survive on human blood. As knowledge of their secret spreads, their past catches up on them with deathly consequence.
