2014’s horror film Ouija spawned a sequel, Ouija: Origin of Evil, which today is showing off a new trailer and poster. The 2016 sequel was directed by Oculus helmer Mike Flanagan from a script he co-wrote with his frequent collaborator, Jeff Howard. Ouija 2 stars Henry Thomas, Elizabeth Reaser, Doug Jones, Parker Mack, Sam Anderson, Kate Siegel, Annalise Basso, and Lulu Wilson, and is produced by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Jason Blum, Brian Goldner, and Stephen Davis. Ouija: Origin of Evil opens in theaters on October 21, 2016.


The 2014 Ouija opened on October 24th and rang up $19.8 million domestically over its opening weekend. Ouija grossed $50 million before exiting theaters, easily earning back its $5 million budget.

The Plot: It was never just a game. Inviting audiences again into the lore of the spirit board, Ouija: Origin of Evil tells a terrifying new tale as the follow-up to 2014’s sleeper hit that opened at number one. In 1965 Los Angeles, a widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to bolster their séance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. When the youngest daughter is overtaken by the merciless spirit, this small family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.
