Zach Braff Returns to the Director’s Chair with ‘Wish I Was Here’

Zach Braff pulls triple duty as co-writer, director and star of Wish I Was Here, an independent comedy/drama funded via a successful Kickstarter campaign. Braff turned to Kickstarter so that he didn’t have to relinquish control and alter his vision to suit a studio, raising over $3.1 million (the goal was $2 million).

The film was picked up by Focus Features for theatrical release and will hit theaters in NY and LA on July 18, 2014 before expanding on July 25th and August 1st.

In addition to Braff, the cast includes Kate Hudson, Mandy Patinkin, Josh Gad, Joey King, and Pierce Gagnon.
