Adam Sandler and Chris Rock are set to star in the comedy film The Week Of co-written by Sandler and director Robert Smigel. Sandler’s also producing the Netflix original film along with Allen Covert, and Barry Bernardi and Tim Herlihy are executive producing. Filming’s expected to take place in Long Island this summer, with Netflix targeting a 2018 premiere.

“Adam Sandler and Chris Rock are cornerstones of the Netflix comedy family and we are over the moon about these two legends reuniting to give our members worldwide a healthy dose of the hilarity that they have been creating together for years. Similar in the romantic comedy tone of Sandler’s most recent film Sandy Wexler, this film will be the perfect vehicle for Sandler and Rock and their millions of fans around the world,” stated Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer.

Adam Sandler and Chris Rock previously worked together on Saturday Night Live back in the 1990s, Grown Ups, Grown Ups 2, and 2005’s The Longest Yard. The Week Of will find Sandler playing the father of the woman Chris Rock’s son is marrying. The story follows the wedding party during the week leading up to the ceremony.
