American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy took to Twitter to confirm the return of one of the show’s favorite actors. Murphy tweeted: “Thrilled to announce the legendary Frances Conroy is on board for next season’s American Horror Story.

American Horror Story fans will remember Conroy was an integral player in season one (‘Moira’) and as an angel of death in season two, American Horror Story Asylum. Also just confirmed to return for more bizarre adventures in the AHS world is Taissa Farmiga who played ‘Violet Harmon’ in 13 episodes of the series.

Murphy hasn’t revealed who Conroy will play in the upcoming third season of the show but has said that Farmiga will be a brand new character rather than reprising her role as Violet.

Already confirmed to return to American Horror Story season three are Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, and Lily Rabe.

FX is aiming for a fall 2013 premiere of season three.
