‘Frozen’ Soundtrack Details and Release Date

Frozen Soundtrack

Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Winnie the Pooh) and Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon) contribute eight original songs to the soundtrack of Frozen, Walt Disney Animation Studios upcoming animated comedy featuring the voices of Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel. Christophe Beck contributes the score to the animated film set in a winter wonderland and based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen while Demi Lovato’s “Let It Go” will be heard over the end credits of the film.

The Frozen soundtrack will arrive in stores on November 25, 2013, two days before the film directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee arrives in theaters.

“Jennifer, Chris and the team have created a film with an engaging setting full of compelling characters,” said producer Peter Del Vecho. “The music elevates and propels this storytelling. The songwriters Kristen and Bobby participated in the creation of the story. We met with them for two hours each day via video conference while we were building our plot—not necessarily about the songs, but about the characters: who they are, how they think, what they want. Each song enhances and expands the story in a way that fully engages the audience in this world.”

Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph, presents Frozen, a stunning big-screen comedy adventure. Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf (voice of Josh Gad), Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.
