The action thriller Den of Thieves starring Gerard Butler (London Has Fallen, Machine Gun Preacher, 300) and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson has just started filming. Christian Gudegast is making his feature film directorial debut and wrote the screenplay, based on an original story by Gudegast and Paul Scheuring (Prison Break: The Final Break, A Man Apart). The cast also includes Pablo Schreiber (13 Hours), O’Shea Jackson, Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Evan Jones (A Million Ways to Die in the West), Cooper Anderson (I Hate My Neighbor!), Maurice Compte (A Walk Among Tombstones, End of Watch), Kaiwai Lyman-Mersereau (American Violence, Westworld), Mo McRae (Wild, Thirteen), Meadow Williams (Apollo 13), and Brian Van Holt (S.W.A.T.).

The film is being financed by STX Entertainment and Diamond Film Productions. Butler, Alan Siegel, Mark Canton, and Tucker Tooley serve as producers. Scott Lumpkin, Jamie Marshall, and Glenn D. Feig are on board as executive producers.

“We are incredibly excited to partner once again with Gerard Butler and to have a very talented cast including Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Pablo Schreiber. Den of Thieves is a gritty action thriller with broad commercial appeal, and our cast blends perfectly into a world where good and bad often intertwine. STX Entertainment is the perfect partner to bring this modern-day heist story to the big screen,” said Tooley.

The Plot: Every day, $120 million in cash is taken out of circulation and destroyed by the Federal Reserve. An elite crew of bank robbers sets out to pull off the ultimate heist and get to the money first, right under the noses of Los Angeles’ most feared division of law enforcement.
