Glee Cast Sets a New Billboard Record
This is one record unlikely to be broken – at least not anytime soon…
The Glee cast has become the first and only act to have 200 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, according to Columbia Records. Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” was the first Glee song to make the Billboard Hot 100 back in 2009, and in 2010 they broke The Beatles’ record of 71 entries on the Hot 100 list. In 2011, they broke Elvis Presley’s record of 108 songs and became the record holder for “most entries in Billboard’s 54-year history.”
Recently, Glee‘s version of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” sold 170,000 tracks in just two weeks. All together, the cast has sold an incredible 43 million songs.
