Josh Gad is set to star in and produce Paramount Pictures’ Heavy Duty. The comedy is based on Gad’s idea, with a script by Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit (1600 Penn, Super Fun Night). The film has Disruption Entertainment’s Mary Parent and Cale Boyter on board to produce and Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) attached as an executive producer.
The Plot: “Heavy Duty is the story of an ordinary guy who believes losing weight will help him live a more extraordinary life. He signs up for a wellness retreat with a group of fellow underachievers, only to face an unexpected test when things go awry.”
Josh Gad will next be seen in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and heard in Columbia Pictures’ Angry Birds. He’s also committed to star in Russ & Roger with Will Ferrell and with Chadwick Boseman in Marshall.
