Julianne Moore Earns the CinemaCon Vanguard Award

CinemaCon’s Managing Director Mitch Neuhauser announced Oscar winner Julianne Moore will be the recipient of the 2015 CinemaCon Vanguard Award. Moore will receive the special honor during the Big Screen Achievement Awards ceremony on April 23rd at Caesars Palace in Vegas.

“With over three decades on the big and small screen and roles in over 60 feature films Julianne Moore has drawn moviegoing audiences in with her portrayals of an array of diverse characters in such memorable films as Boogie Nights, The Big Lebowski, The Hours, The Kids Are All Right, and Still Alice to name just a few,” stated Neuhauser. “Her work on the big screen is unmatched and with this year’s upcoming releases of Freeheld and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 she will continue to entertain, enlighten, educate and captivate us all. We could not be more honored to be able to present her with this year’s ‘CinemaCon Vanguard Award.’”

The final film of The Hunger Games franchise is set to open in theaters on November 20th, and Moore will be reprising her role as District 13 President Alma Coin in the sci-fi action thriller starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. Moore will also be seen in Freeheld directed by Peter Sollett and true love story of New Jersey Police Detective Laurel Hester (Moore) and her domestic partner Stacie Andree (Ellen Page).
