Warner Bros Pictures will be releasing the sequel to the blockbuster animated film The LEGO Movie in theaters on May 18, 2018, a week earlier than had been previously announced. And the studio’s come up with a title for The LEGO Movie sequel that makes absolute sense and is easy to remember. Henceforth, the sequel will be called…wait for it…The LEGO Movie Sequel.

Before the sequel hits theaters, LEGO fans will be treated to the untitled LEGO Batman feature (maybe they’ll just call it the LEGO Batman Feature since that’s in keeping with the LEGO movie trend). The Batman film will open in theaters on February 10, 2017 and it’ll be followed by Ninjago on September 22, 2017, with that film moving off of its fall 2016 date to allow for more time to get it into production.

Announcing the title and new release dates, Dan Fellman, President, Domestic Distribution, said, “We are very excited about dating our upcoming LEGO animated features, which already have a worldwide fan following, built on the foundation of the first film. These three films already in the pipeline are just the beginning of a creative and diverse animation slate that will be delighting audiences for years to come.”

“We are looking forward to expanding the LEGO film franchise globally with these three incredibly imaginative movies, each offering something different to appeal to a broad range of audiences around the world,” added Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President, International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.
