Rebecca Hall and Jason Sudeikis star in ‘Tumbledown’

Tumbledown starring Jason Sudeikis and Rebecca Hall has been acquired by Starz and will be released in theaters around Valentine’s Day 2016, followed by a release on demand and on Starz. Described as a comedic love story, Tumbledown was directed by first-time feature film helmer Sean Mewshaw from a script by Desi Van Til.

The cast also includes Joe Manganiello, Dianna Agron, Blythe Danner, Griffin Dunne, and Richard Masur.

Commenting on the pickup, Head of Acquisitions for Starz Kevin Kasha said, “Tumbledown is as heartfelt as it is funny and Jason and Rebecca are electric. We are thrilled to bring Sean’s crowd-pleaser to audiences.”

“I fell in love with this story and began developing the film with Sean and Desi in 2009, so to see it find a home with Starz, who have been so passionate about the film, is incredibly gratifying. I think audiences are going to love this story and what Jason and Rebecca bring to it,” added producer Kristin Hahn.

The Plot:

Deep in the Maine woods, Hannah (Hall) is unable to move on after the death of her husband, an acclaimed musician and the subject of a biography she’s struggling to write, when she meets Andrew (Sudeikis), a brash New York academic who has a different take on her husband’s life – and death. The unlikely pair must collaborate to craft the famous singer’s story and begin to write the next chapter in their lives together.
