Filming is underway in Georgia on New Line Cinema’s Vacation reboot that we’ve been hearing about for months. Ed Helms (The Office, The Hangover movies), Christina Applegate, Chris Hemsworth, and Charlie Day are taking on the lead roles in the new film, with first-time feature film directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein at the helm.

Daley and Goldstein also co-wrote the script.

And a bit of good news for fans of the original Vacation films: Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo will be reprising their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold.

The Plot:

Following in his father’s footsteps and hoping for some much-needed family bonding, a grown-up Rusty Griswold (Helms) surprises his wife, Debbie (Applegate), and their two sons with a cross-country trip back to America’s “favorite family fun park,” Walley World. Rounding out the cast are Chris Hemsworth in the role of Stone Crandall, Rusty’s irritatingly successful brother-in-law; Charlie Day, who plays a river rafting guide; and Skyler Gisondo and Steele Stebbins, who play Rusty’s sons, James and Kevin.
