Lifetime’s Working on a ‘The Women of The Bible’ Special

Producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett (Son of God, The Bible) are continuing their partnership with Lifetime with a new two-hour special titled The Women of The Bible. Downey will be narrating the special set to air on December 7, 2014 at 7pm ET/PT prior to the premiere of the miniseries, The Red Tent.

“The Bible is an inspiring source of some of the most timeless stories known today and what lies within it are important narratives about the women who play a vital role in faith,” said Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Lifetime. “There’s no one better than Mark Burnett and Roma Downey to create this special, which is the perfect complement to Lifetime’s miniseries event, The Red Tent.”

“Women have obviously played such an important role in biblical history and Mark and I are excited to shine a light on these individual stories through the eyes of some of today’s most incredible women of faith,” added executive producer Roma Downey.

The Details:

The Women of The Bible provides a fresh look at the sacred text from the perspective of its heroines. Revealing little-known facts about some of the most impactful women in biblical history, the special will share the stories of Eve, Sara, Rahab, Mary Magdalene, and Mother Mary, with new insights from some of today’s leaders and scholars in the faith community, including Christine Caine; Priscilla Shirer, Co-Founder of Going Beyond Ministries; Victoria Osteen, Co-Pastor of Lakewood Church; Eva Rodriguez of the Latino Evangelical Women’s Association; Kay Warren, Co-Founder of Saddleback Church; and Joyce Meyer, Bible teacher and New York Times bestselling author, among others.
