Starz has debuted a super short teaser for the new series Ash vs Evil Dead starring Bruce Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, and Jill Marie Jones. The teaser gives nothing away from the upcoming fall 2015 series premiere, but it does show Ash’s chainsaw and has Campbell issuing the warning: “Ash is back, baby.”
The original Evil Dead team of Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell executive produce the new series. Craig DiGregorio is the series’ showrunner and executive producer. Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy co-wrote the first episode, and Sam also directed episode one.
Starz promises more teasers will be released soon that provide a glimpse into what Evil Dead fans can expect from the new series which is currently shooting the 10 episode first season in New Zealand.
The Plot:
Campbell reprises his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.
