Season four of ABC’s popular primetime crime drama, Castle, will premiere on September 19, 2011. Nathan Fillion returns to lead the cast of the one-hour drama, playing the titular role.

The series also stars Stana Katic as Kate Beckett, Ruben Santiago-Hudson as Roy Montgomery, Tamala Jones as Lanie Parish, and Jon Huertas as Javier Esposito. Seamus Dever plays Kevin Ryan, Molly Quinn is Alexis Castle, and Susan Sullivan is Martha Rodgers.

The Synopsis: When viewers first met Richard Castle — a famous mystery novelist and divorced father raising his teenage daughter, while being kept grounded by his Broadway diva mother — he was creatively blocked. But when the NYPD questioned him in connection with a series of murders staged to imitate crime scenes from his books, Castle found inspiration in NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, a bright and aggressive homicide detective with a fascination for odd and offbeat cases stemming from the years-old unsolved murder of her own mother.

Though they instantly clashed, sparks of another sort began to fly, leading both to danger and a hint of romance as Castle stepped in to help find the copycat killer. Once that initial case was solved, Castle and Beckett continued to investigate strange homicides in New York, combining Castle’s writer intuition and Beckett’s creative detective work. With Beckett as his muse, Castle used his newfound experience in the field as fodder for his bestselling novel last season, “Heat Wave.”

During this past season, Castle and Beckett’s relationship grew stronger as they dodged bullets, captured killers, and solved numerous murder cases in their unorthodox partnership. But by the season two finale, Beckett’s new relationship with a robbery detective had pushed Castle away, forcing them both to confront their feelings. When Castle left to finish writing his second Nikki Heat novel, “Naked Heat” (due out September 28), Beckett had to watch him walk away, unable to express her true feelings and unsure whether he would return to the precinct…
