The Simpsons Creator Matt Groening Receives a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
How long has The Simpsons been around? Long enough to claim the title of “longest-running scripted show in television history,” and long enough for the 500th episode to be ready to air on February 19, 2012 at 8pm ET/PT on Fox (the first episode of the series debuted on January 14, 1990).
Created by Matt Groening, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson have become a fixture on television and even graced the big screen in the 2007 animated film, The Simpsons Movie. And on February 14, 2012, Groening received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for bringing us this animated family.
