Miley Cyrus did double duty on the October 5, 2013 episode of Saturday Night Live, hosting and handling the job of the night’s musical guest. Cyrus and SNL used her MTV Video Music Awards performance as source material for a few skits, but – thankfully – Miley kept her tongue in her mouth for the most part and laid off the twerking (except when spoofing herself).

Among the skits Cyrus took part in were a skewering of the government shutdown, a visit from her future self talking to her about the VMAs, and failed auditions for the 50 Shades of Grey movie.
