Comedy Central is set to debut the animated series Moonbeam City on September 16, 2015 at 10:30pm ET/PT. Created by Scott Gairdner and executive produced by Gairdner, Tommy Blacha (Metalocalypse), Will Gluck, and Richie Schwartz, the series is described as a retro-futuristic cop extravaganza in the vein of the crime dramas from the ’80s.

The voice cast is led by Will Forte, Rob Lowe, Elizabeth Banks, and Kate Mara, with guest stars for season one set to include Powers Boothe, Kate McKinnon, Catherine O’Hara, Andy Richter, Susan Sarandon, Molly Shannon, Paul F. Tompkins, Patrick Warburton, and Adam West.

Lowe voices Dazzle Novak, a dumb detective who’s actually more hazardous to the community than the criminals. Forte is Lowe’s nemesis, Rad Cunningham, who’s out to take down the inept detective. And at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, Will Forte and executive producer Tommy Blacha teamed up to discuss the new show during roundtable interviews. Forte and Blacha explained what audiences can expect, the tone, the humor, and the relationships between the characters.
