This year’s MTV Movie Awards kicked off with first-time host Conan O’Brien attempting to break the previous number of celebrity cameos in a show open. The record was eight, but O’Brien was determined to deliver an opening bit filled with 50 celebrities.
Adam Samberg was #1 followed by Seth Rogen, Sarah Silverman, Ice Cube, Elijah Wood, Chris Pratt, Jessica Alba, Ashton Kutcher, and Anna Faris. Next up were shots of Danny McBride, Ed Helms, Jason Bateman, Lupita Nyong’o, Adam Sandler, Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Anthony Hopkins, Logan Lerman, and Shawn White. Rosario Dawson, Willie Nelson, Blake Griffin, Taylor Swift, Martin Scorsese, James Franco, Paul Rudd, Aziz Ansari, and Grumpy Cat followed them.
#30 was Carrie Brownstein, with Fred Armisen, Skrillex, Demi Moore, Tracy Morgan, and Tom Arnold not far behind. The cast of The Big Bang Theory counted for cameos 36 through 42, with Mindy Kaling, Adam Scott, Ellen Page, Charles Barkley, Jack Nicholson, Katy Perry, Jack White, and Conan himself completing the list.
