Fox’s teaser trailer for The Rocky Horror Picture Show has debuted and if you’ve got a few minutes to kill, check out the reaction on YouTube to the official teaser. Let’s just say fans of Tim Curry (who is involved with Fox’s project as the Criminologist Narrator) and the original film aren’t exactly embracing this new take on the classic movie musical with open arms.
Set to air in October 2016, The Rocky Horror Picture Show stars Victoria Justice (Victorious) as Janet, Ryan McCartan (Liv and Maddie) as Brad, Laverne Cox as Frank-N-Furter, Staz Nair as Rocky Horror, Adam Lambert as Eddie, Reeve Carney as Riff Raff, Annaleigh Levan as Usherette, Christina Milian as Magenta, and Ben Vereen as Dr. Everett Scott.
Lou Adler, Gail Berman, and Kenny Ortega are executive producing, with Ortega also on board as director. The 2016 version is based on Jim Sharman and Richard O’Brien’s original screenplay with lyrics and music by Richard O’Brien.
The Plot: Sweethearts JANET (Justice) and BRAD (McCartan) stumble upon flirtatious mad scientist DR. FRANK-N-FURTER’s (Cox) bizarre abode during his annual Transylvanian science convention. The two-hour event also features Emmy Award nominee Tim Curry, the original Frank-N-Furter.
