The Voice coaches came together to kick off season four of the popular singing competition show with a performance of The Beatles’ “Come Together.” Adam Levine and Blake Shelton returned to the revolving chairs as coaches for the fourth season in a row, while Usher and Shakira joined the cast of the series with the season four debut on March 25, 2013.

Usher and Shakira take over chairs vacated by Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green who are taking a break from the series to concentrate on their music.

And while NBC as a network has had a horrible 2012-2013 ratings-wise, The Voice returned to impressive numbers. The change-up in coaches didn’t adversely affect the audience numbers, with the March 25th premiere actually up 12% over season three’s fall premiere. According to the preliminary estimates, 13.36 million viewers tuned in to watch the two-hour season premiere.
