Go ‘Under the Dome’ with Alexander Koch, Colin Ford, and Eddie Cahill

What’s the one question Alexander Koch, Colin Ford, and Eddie Cahill wouldn’t answer during our interview for Under the Dome at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con? I’ll give you a clue: it’s the source of everything that’s going wrong in the small town of Chester’s Mill.

Koch, Ford, and Cahill wouldn’t reveal their theories as to what the ‘egg’ is, however, they did talk about other Chester’s Mill happenings (without revealing any spoilers).

This season on CBS’s Under the Dome, the death count of key characters has increased but Koch (‘Junior’) doesn’t mind if he’s kept in the dark when it comes to what’s in store for his character. Koch admits he doesn’t think too far ahead as to what’s up with his character as the writers can change their minds, and he’d rather just play what’s in the script he’s presented than to anticipate what could be coming further down the road.

And speaking of those scripts, this season Under the Dome author Stephen King was actually on the set for episode one, which he wrote. “It was really great. Having him lead our first episode of the second season kind of set the tone for the second season, especially with the introduction of new characters,” says Ford. “There’s so many new twists in our story, I think it really helped us get started.”

Cahill didn’t get to work with King much, but he believes if they’d given King the whole season to do it would have gone darker in tone. “I think there was some of that kind of quirk in the first episode that was unique to him,” said Cahill when asked if the series would be different if King wrote every episode.
