‘Damsel’ Trailer with Robert Pattinson, Mia Wasikowska, and a Mini Horse

The official trailer for Damsel just debuted along with a new poster for the Western set in 1870. The two-minute trailer features Robert Pattinson as a young man anxious to make Mia Wasikowska his bride. He’s even brought along a miniature horse to help seal the deal.

Damsel was written and directed by David Zellner and Nathan Zellner. In addition to Robert Pattinson (The Lost City of Z, Good Time) and Mia Wasikowska (Alice Through the Looking Glass, Crimson Peak), the cast includes David Zellner, Nathan Zellner, Robert Forster (Twin Peaks, Acts of Vengeance), and Joseph Biligiere (Yellow Rock).

Magnolia Pictures has set a June 22, 2108 theatrical release date.

The Plot: “It’s the age of The Wild West, circa 1870. An affluent pioneer, Samuel Alabaster (Robert Pattinson) ventures deep into the American wilderness to reunite with and marry the love of his life, Penelope (Mia Wasikowska). For his journey he brings Butterscotch, a miniature horse intended as a wedding present for his bride, and enlists drunkard Parson Henry (David Zellner) to conduct the ceremony. As they traverse the lawless frontier their once simple journey grows treacherous, and the lines between hero, villain, and damsel are blurred.

A loving reinvention of the Western genre from the Zellner brothers (Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter), Damsel showcases their trademark unpredictability, off-kilter sense of humor, and unique brand of humanism.”
