Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook) and New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman paid a visit to Boston Marathon bombing victim Jeffrey Bauman as well as other victims of the Boston attack as they recovering from their injuries at Boston Medical Center. Bauman lost both of his lower legs following the horrific attack by terrorist brothers at the finish line of Monday, June 15, 2013’s Boston Marathon.

Bauman is the bombing victim pictured in the iconic AP photo snapped moments after the attack. In the photo, Bauman is seen in a wheelchair being rushed to an ambulance while being assisted by heroic Carlos Arredondo. Bauman was at the marathon cheering on his girlfriend while Arredondo was there passing out American flags in honor of service members who lost their lives in battle. Arredondo’s son, U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Alexander Arredondo, was killed in Iraq in 2004.

At the hospital, Bauman was able to identify the bomber, with his brother Chris reporting Jeff asked for a pen and paper and wrote “bag, saw the guy, looked right at me.”

After visiting Jeff in the hospital, Edelman tweeted: “Visited #survivor #stud #hero Jeffrey Bauman Jr. today. He was looking great and is a true inspiration. #strong” – @Edelman11

Bradley Cooper was in town filming American Hustle with David O. Russell. Production on the film was shut down during the lockdown of the city.
