While Glee fans mourn the sudden death of 31-year-old actor Cory Monteith, the British Columbia Coroners Service has announced the official preliminary autopsy results. According to the coroner, Monteith died of “mixed-drug toxicity involving heroin and alcohol.”

The Glee star was discovered deceased in a room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver on July 13, 2013 after missing the check-out time. Monteith had a history of substance abuse and had entered rehab multiple times to try and beat his addiction.

The BC Coroners Service is continuing to investigate Monteith’s death however they do not believe foul play was involved. “It should be noted that at this point there is no evidence to suggest Mr. Monteith’s death was anything other than a most-tragic accident,” stated the official report.
