Three-time Oscar nominee Michelle Pfeiffer, soon to be seen starring alongside Johnny Depp in Dark Shadows, has been named as this year’s recipient of CinemaCon’s Cinema Icon Award. Pfeiffer will pick up the award at a special gala to be held on April 26, 2012 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

CinemaCon’s managing director, Mitch Neuhauser, made the announcement: “Michelle Pfeiffer is truly one of the film industry’s great leading ladies. In a remarkable career spanning more than three decades and encompassing dozens of extraordinarily diverse films, she has proven time and time again that she can tackle any role and make it her own. We could not be more thrilled to take this opportunity to honor her with the very first ‘Cinema Icon Award.’”

CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), will take place April 23-26, 2012.
