RIP Monty

The Queen, Daniel Craig and Corgis (screenshot)

Monty, one of Queen Elizabeth II’s loyal Corgis, has passed away. Monty was one of the Corgis recently featured in the Olympics Opening Ceremony sketch alongside the Queen and James Bond actor Daniel Craig. Monty was 13 years old, the oldest of the Royal Corgis, and was previously owned by the Queen Mother.

Queen Elizabeth II still has two Corgis as her constant companions: Willow and Holly.

Rest in peace, Monty. A loving companion and friend of the Queen, you’ll be missed by all who knew you and those who only knew about you via photos and videos. Have a peaceful journey over Rainbow Bridge, dear Monty.
