‘Abigail’ Trailer: This Ballerina’s a Real Monster

Melissa Barrera reunites with her Scream and Scream VI directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett for Abigail, a twisted horror film about a vampire ballerina. The two-minute trailer introduces the titular character as well as the batch of adults who are caught completely by surprise when Abigail turns out to be a blood-sucking monster and not an innocent young dancer.

In addition to Barrera, the cast includes Dan Stevens (Gaslit), Kathryn Newton (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania), William Catlett (Black Lightning), Kevin Durand (Resident Evil: Retribution), Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul), and Alisha Weir (Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical) as Abigail. Euphoria‘s Angus Cloud, who passed away in July 2023 from an accidental overdose, also stars.

Stephen Shields (The Hole in the Ground) and Guy Busick (Ready or Not) wrote the screenplay. Project X’s William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, and James Vanderbilt served as producers along with Tripp Vinson, and Radio Silence’s Chad Vilella. Ron Lynch and Macdara Kelleher executive produced.

Abigail opens in theaters on April 19, 2024.
