Antlers Teaser Trailer: Keri Russell, Jesse Plemons Star and Guillermo Del Toro Produces

Fox Searchlight just released the first teaser trailer for Antlers, a horror fantasy based on the short story The Quiet Boy by Nick Antosca. The eerie trailer features a voice-over recalling the story of three bears. However, it’s evident these creatures are nothing like the bears in the classic fairy tale.

“Once there were three bears that lived in a dark, wet cave up above a small town. Every day, Little Bear went to school and at night he would come home and eat dinner. But one day Little Bear came home and Big Bear and Baby Bear were different. Big Bear got sick and his insides turned black. Big Bear has become more angrier and meaner, because they had no food…no meat,” says Lucas, played by Jeremy T Thomas. It’s an ominous tale and one that likely won’t end well for Lucas and his family.

Keri Russell (The Americans) and Jesse Plemons (Fargo) lead the cast of Antlers. Graham Greene (Wind River), Scott Haze (Thank You For Your Service), Rory Cochrane (White Boy Rick), and Amy Madigan (Twice in a Lifetime) co-star.

Scott Cooper (Black Mass, Crazy Heart) directed and co-wrote the screenplay with C. Henry Chaisson and Nick Antosca. Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro, a filmmaker who knows his way around the horror fantasy genre, produced with David Goyer (The Dark Knight trilogy) and J. Miles Dale.

Cooper’s behind the scenes team includes director of photography Florian Hoffmeister, production designer Tim Grimes, editor Dylan Tichenor, and costume designer Karin Nosella. Shane Mahan is the creature effects supervisor and Lindala Schminken and Toby Lindala are the special effects make-up artists.

The Plot:

“In Antlers, a small-town Oregon teacher (Russell) and her brother (Plemons), the local sheriff, discover that a young student (Thomas) is harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.”
