Michael Fassbender pads out his spy thriller resume with Black Bag, opening in theaters March 14, 2025. The trailer, packed with action, shows Fassbender and Cate Blanchett’s as a married spy couple who’ve learned to keep their work lives separate, yet still cling to hope in their relationship.
The film also stars Marisa Abela, Tom Burke, Naomie Harris, Regé-Jean Page, and Pierce Brosnan. Steven Soderbergh directs from a screenplay by David Koepp. The writer-director team also have Presence with Lucy Liu opening in 2025.
“From director Steven Soderbergh, Black Bag is a gripping spy drama about legendary intelligence agents George Woodhouse and his beloved wife Kathryn,” reads Focus Features’ synopsis. “When she is suspected of betraying the nation, George faces the ultimate test – loyalty to his marriage or his country.”
