Chelsea Handler has agreed to return as host of the 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards set to air live on The CW on January 14, 2024. Handler did a terrific job of hosting the 2023 awards show, and the CCA is pleased she agreed to handle the hosting gig for the second consecutive year.

“I am very happy and excited to be hosting the Critics Choice Awards again this year, as last year was one of the most fun nights I’ve had,” said Chelsea Handler. “There is no greater reward than making fun of actors and then getting drunk with them afterward. It’s an honor.”

“We are thrilled to have Chelsea Handler join us once again to host the Critics Choice Awards,” stated CCA CEO Joey Berlin. “After having her as our host last year, we couldn’t wait to have her back up on the stage again.”

The annual Critics Choice Awards recognize outstanding achievements in film and television. Executive produced by Bob Bain Productions and Berlin Entertainment, the CCAs are one of the most accurate predictors of how members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will vote.

Last year, the CCA threw their votes behind Everything Everywhere All at Once, which picked up five awards, including Best Picture, Best Director (Daniel Kwan & Daniel Scheinert), Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), Best Original Screenplay (Kwan & Scheinert), and Best Editing (Paul Rogers). On the television side, Abbott Elementary was named Best Comedy Series, and Sheryl Lee Ralph earned the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series award. The final season of Better Call Saul went out with a bang, collecting Best Drama, Best Actor in a Drama Series (Bob Odenkirk), and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Giancarlo Esposito).

Handler’s credits include Chelsea Lately, Chelsea Does, and the 2022 comedy special Revolution. Handler’s currently keeping busy with her Little Big Bitch stand-up tour.

The broadcast will air on Sunday, January 14th on The CW beginning at 7pm ET/PT (tape-delayed on the West Coast).
