Hulu’s released the first few photos from Control Freak, the body horror film starring Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi). The photos arrived along with the confirmation of a March 13, 2025 premiere date on the streaming service.
In addition to Tran, the cast includes Miles Robbins (Blockers) and Toan Le and Kieu Chinh from The Sympathizer.
“Control Freak introduces a chilling narrative: ‘A motivational speaker is tormented by an unrelenting itch on the back of her head.’ This intriguing premise leads into a terrifying journey as she battles a parasitic demon from her homeland, bringing a fresh and thrilling perspective to the horror genre,” reads Hulu and WorthenBrooks’ synopsis. Kelly Marie Tran stars as Valerie, “a woman whose life spirals into chaos due to this inexplicable and relentless affliction.” Miles Robbins plays her husband, Robbie, and Toan Le is Valerie’s father, Sang. Kieu Chinh stars as Aunt Thuy.
Shal Ngo (The Park) wrote and directed the horror film based on his short film Control, which was part of Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween season two. WorthenBrooks developed and produced the film, with David Brooks, Arbi Pedrossian, and Jenna Cavelle serving as producers. Shaum S. Sengupta and Miles Alva are executive producers.
