Creed III is spreading a little holiday cheer with a new Creed family poster. The poster shows Adonis Creed wrapped in Bianca’s embrace, with their daughter Amara seated at Adonis’ feet, looking confident.
Michael B. Jordan reprises his role as Adonis Creed and Tessa Thompson returns as Bianca. Mila Davis-Kent makes her feature film acting debut as Amara. The cast also includes Jonathan Majors, Wood Harris, Florian Munteanu, and Phylicia Rashad.
In an October 2022 interview timed to the release of the first trailer, Michael B. Jordan touched on the film’s themes.
“I think thematically for us family is always the core, you know? Family and heart,” offered Jordan. “You have to face your past and find out who you really are. I think it is something that we address in this movie.
You know, it’s sort of a homecoming as well. You know what I mean? Remembering where you come from I think is really important in this one as well. And sometimes settling debts… I think settling debts and being accountable for your actions is something that we wanted to look at as well.
This movie has a lot of me in it and hopefully a lot of other people as well. I wanted to create a story where everybody felt like they could relate to something in this movie.”
Jordan directs this third entry in the Creed franchise. Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin wrote the screenplay, based on a story by Ryan Coogler, Keenan Coogler, and Baylin.
Creed III opens in theaters and in IMAX on March 3, 2023.
