STX Entertainment’s released the second trailer for the thriller Desierto starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen, The Walking Dead), Gael Garcia Bernal (Mozart in the Jungle), and Alondra Hidalgo. Written by Jonás Cuarón (Gravity) and Mateo García Elizondo, Desierto was directed and produced by Cuarón. Alfonso Cuarón, Carlos Cuarón, Alex García, and Charles Gillibert also produced the R-rated action film. STX Entertainment’s planning an October 14, 2016 theatrical release.
The Plot: What begins as a hopeful journey to seek a better life becomes a harrowing and primal fight for survival when a deranged, rifle-toting vigilante chases a group of unarmed men and women through the treacherous U.S.-Mexican border. In the harsh, unforgiving desert terrain, the odds are stacked firmly against them as they continuously discover there’s nowhere to hide from the unrelenting, merciless killer.
