Sony Pictures Classics’ dramatic film Equity has released a new theatrical trailer. The R-rated thriller was directed by Farah Goes Bang‘s Meera Menon from a screenplay by Amy Fox. The cast includes Breaking Bad‘s Anna Gunn, Hap and Leonard‘s James Purefoy, Backwards‘ Sarah Megan Thomas, and Orange is the New Black‘s Alysia Reiner. Equity will open in theaters on July 29, 2016.
The Plot: A female investment banker, fighting to rise to the top of the corporate ladder at a competitive Wall Street firm, navigates a controversial tech IPO in the post-financial crisis world, where loyalties are suspect, regulations are tight, but pressure to bring in “big money” remains high.
