The first teaser trailer for Apple Original Films’ F1 focuses on the cars and not on the plot. Cars speed around the track, Queen’s “We Will Rock You” provides a pounding beat, and Brad Pitt pops in occasionally. That’s all we’re served up in this initial teaser.
Brad Pitt stars as a “former driver who returns to Formula 1, alongside Damson Idris as his teammate at APXGP, a fictional team on the grid,” according to Apple Original Films’ description. Joining Oscar winner Brad Pitt and Damson Idris (Snowfall) are Academy Award nominee Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin), Academy Award winner Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), Emmy Award winner Tobias Menzies (The Crown), Emmy Award nominee Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso), Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve), and Samson Kayo (Our Flag Means Death).
F1 was shot during Grand Prix weekends with the support of Formula 1, the F1 community, the FIA, race promoters, and 10 F1 teams and their drivers. Top Gun: Maverick‘s Joseph Kosinski directs and serves as a producer. Additional producers include Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films; Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B Entertainment; and seven-time Formula One champion Sir Lewis Hamilton under his Dawn Apollo Films banner. Copper CEO Penni Thow is an executive producer.
Warner Bros Pictures is distributing the Apple Original Films action drama in theaters and IMAX. Warner Bros has set a June 25, 2025 international release followed by a June 27th domestic release.
