Sony Pictures and Apple Original Films suggest that while you shouldn’t stare at the sun or watch the eclipse without special glasses, it’s perfectly fine to look directly at the official trailer for Fly Me to the Moon. The trailer begins with a fiery meet-cute between Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, who wind up working together at NASA on the moon landing.
The cast also includes Nick Dillenburg, Anna Garcia, Jim Rash, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Christian Zuber, Donald Elise Watkins, Ray Romano, and Woody Harrelson. Greg Berlanti directed, with Johansson, Jonathan Lia, Keenan Flynn, and Sarah Schechter producing. Robert J. Dohrmann executive produces.
“Fly Me to the Moon is a sharp, stylish comedy-drama set against the high-stakes backdrop of NASA’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing,” reads Apple Original Films’ synopsis. “Sparks fly in all directions as marketing maven Kelly Jones (Johansson), brought in to fix NASA’s public image, wreaks havoc on launch director Cole Davis’ (Tatum) already difficult task. When the White House deems the mission too important to fail, Jones is directed to stage a fake moon landing as backup, and the countdown truly begins.”
Fly Me to the Moon opens in theaters on July 12, 2024.
