Walt Disney Animation Studios is cranking up the marketing campaign for the animated sequel, Frozen 2. The Mouse House just unveiled a new teaser poster for Frozen 2 and confirmed the official trailer will make its debut during Good Morning America on Tuesday, June 11, 2019.

The Frozen sequel doesn’t have an official synopsis as of yet. What it does have is the briefest of plot descriptions, courtesy of Disney: “In Frozen 2, in theaters November 22, Anna and Elsa journey far beyond the gates of Arendelle. But why?”

The official trailer will apparently provide clues as to why Anna and Elsa have ventured away from home.

Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad are back as the voices of Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf. The Oscar-winning team of Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck returned to direct the sequel, and Peter Del Vecho is back as a producer. New songs specifically written for the sequel will be provided by Oscar winners Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.

The original animated film opened on November 27, 2013 and rang up more than $400 million domestically over its theatrical run. Frozen collected an additional $875+ million from foreign markets, leaving theaters with a grand total of $1.2 billion. It also earned two Academy Awards in the Best Animated Feature Film of the Year category and Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song category. In addition, Disney added a Golden Globe, two BAFTA Awards, two Critics’ Choice Awards, two Grammys, and an Alliance of Women Film Journalists award to its long list of film honors.

It’s a given Frozen 2 will be a box office blockbuster and that its soundtrack will be on a lot of gift lists this winter holiday season. Prepare to have another “Let It Go”-type tune stuck in your head for months.
