First Look: ‘Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween’ Official Trailer, Poster and New Photos

The official trailer for Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween features Slappy the evil ventriloquist dummy, Halloween costumes and decorations that come to life, and an attack by sharp-toothed gummy bears. It also shows off the new young cast that will be getting into trouble from messing around with R.L. Stine’s books.

2015’s Goosebumps and the 2018 sequel are based on R.L. Stine’s hugely popular books which have sold more than 400 million copies. Darren Lemke adapted Stine’s characters for the screen in the 2015 film, with Rob Lieber taking on screenwriting duties for the sequel. Goosebumps had Rob Letterman (Monsters vs Aliens) at the helm; The Duff‘s Ari Sandel directed Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween.

Columbia Pictures is set to release the fantasy adventure film in theaters on October 12, 2018.

The sequel’s cast includes Jeremy Ray Taylor (It and It 2), Caleel Harris (Castle Rock), Madison Iseman (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Ken Jeong (Dr. Ken), Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs), Chris Parnell (Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation), Jessi Goei (The Gifted), Shari Headley (The Haves and the Have Nots), Peyton Wich (Stranger Things), and Jack Black as the voice of Slappy.

The first film was released in theaters on October 16, 2015 and grossed $23 million domestically over its opening weekend. The PG-rated film rang up $150 million worldwide before exiting theaters. Jack Black led the cast that included Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush, Ryan Lee, and Amy Ryan.
