In support of the film’s August 26, 2011 release, del Toro and Holmes sat down to discuss the film. In this video, Del Toro and his star Katie Holmes discuss working together to bring this horror film to life on the big screen.
Guillermo del Toro says one of the scariest films he remembers seeing as a kid was the original made-for-TV movie Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. Now, he’s bringing the story of a family terrorized by scary creatures in an old mansion to the big screen with the 2011 feature film version of Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. Del Toro produced and co-wrote the film, which was directed by Troy Nixey and stars Bailee Madison, Guy Pearce and Katie Holmes.
