It’s here! The first real teaser trailer for the second Hunger Games movie, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, has arrived, debuting during the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. This first good look (MTV had debuted a tiny clip prior to the awards show) at one of the year’s most anticipated movies shows Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) being introduced to the adoring crowds as victors of the Hunger Games. But President Snow (Donald Sutherland) knows Katniss could become a powerful rallying point for the oppressed masses and wants her “species” – meaning, all the surviving victors – eradicated.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens in theaters on November 22, 2013.

The Plot:

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
