‘If’ Featurette Shows Off the Big-Name Cast

Steve Carell. Emily Blunt. Matt Damon. George Clooney. Director John Krasinski’s IF is absolutely loaded with big-name actors bringing the film’s titular characters to life. Paramount Pictures’ minute-and-a-half “Meet the Cast” featurette introduces the family-friendly film’s “imaginary friends,” with snippets of the actors voicing their characters.

The cast also includes Ryan Reynolds, Cailey Fleming, Fiona Shaw, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr., Alan Kim, and Liza Colón-Zayas. Chris Meloni, Amy Schumer, Sam Rockwell, Keegan-Michael Key, Sebastian Maniscalco, Richard Jenkins, Matthew Rhys, Bradley Cooper, Maya Rudolph, Sam Rockwell, Blake Lively, and Awkwafina pop in to voice the weird assortment of imaginary friends. Even Krasinski took on an imaginary friend role, voicing a toasted marshmallow.

“From writer and director John Krasinski, IF is about a girl who discovers that she can see everyone’s imaginary friends — and what she does with that superpower — as she embarks on a magical adventure to reconnect forgotten IFs with their kids,” reads Paramount’s synopsis.

Allyson Seeger, John Krasinski, Andrew Form, and Ryan Reynolds served as producers. Executive producers include John J. Kelly, George Dewey, and Kimberly Nelson LoCascio.

IF opens in theaters on May 17, 2024.
