Mark Wahlberg returns to more family friendly fare with a starring role in Paramount Pictures’ Instant Family. The 2018 comedy just debuted its first official poster featuring Wahlberg and Rose Byrne who star as parents who enter the world of foster care and find it immediately changes their lives.

The Paramount Pictures release is based on actual events in the life of writer/director Sean Anders. Anders’ credits include Sex Drive, Horrible Bosses 2, and That’s My Boy. He also directed Mark Wahlberg in 2015’s Daddy’s Home and its sequel, 2017’s Daddy’s Home 2.

In addition to Walhberg (Transformers: The Last Knight) and Byrne (Juliet, Naked), the cast includes Oscar winner Octavia Spencer (The Help), Tig Notaro (One Mississippi), Isabela Moner (Sicario: Day of the Soldado), and Margo Martindale (The Americans). John Morris co-wrote the script and produced with Anders, Wahlberg, and Stephen Levinson.

Writer/director Anders’ behind the scenes team includes director of photography Brett Pawlak, editor Brad Wilhite, production designer Clayton Hartley, and costume designer Lisa Lovaas.

Paramount Pictures is targeting a November 16, 2018 theatrical release.

The Instant Family Plot:

“When Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) decide to start a family, they stumble into the world of foster care adoption. They hope to take in one small child but when they meet three siblings, including a rebellious 15 year old girl (Isabela Moner), they find themselves speeding from zero to three kids overnight. Now, Pete and Ellie must hilariously try to learn the ropes of instant parenthood in the hopes of becoming a family.”
