Josh Duhamel Talks About ‘Safe Haven’

Josh Duhamel (Transformers) tackles the role of romantic leading man in Relativity Media’s Safe Haven, released in theaters on Valentine’s Day. Based on the Nicholas Sparks book, Safe Haven finds Duhamel starring as a small-town dad raising two young kids on his own after his wife dies of cancer. And in this interview video courtesy of the studio, Duhamel talks about his character, his character’s relationship with Julianne Hough’s character, and working with director Lasse Hallstrom (Dear John). He also discusses shooting in Southport, North Carolina.

The Plot:

Safe Haven is the story of a young woman’s struggle to find love again after she arrives in a small North Carolina town. Her reluctance to join the tight-knit community raises questions about her past. Slowly, she begins putting down roots, and gains the courage to start a relationship with Alex, a widowed store owner with two young children. But dark secrets intrude on her new life with such terror that she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and rely on the power of love.
