Rian Johnson’s ‘Knives Out’ Sequel Reveals a New Name and Cast

We can stop calling the Knives Out sequel Knives Out 2. Netflix and writer/director Rian Johnson revealed the much-anticipated sequel is officially titled Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

Knives Out premiered on November 27, 2019 and starred Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, and Don Johnson. The cast also included Michael Shannon, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, Jaeden Martell, Noah Segan, Edi Patterson, Riki Lindhome, and Christopher Plummer.

Glass Onion will star Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista.

Writer/director Johnson is producing along with Ram Bergman. Netflix is targeting a holiday season release.

Netflix’s very basic synopsis reveals the sequel will find Detective Benoit Blanc traveling to Greece to peel back the layers of a mystery involving a new cast of colorful suspects.

Knives Out currently sits at 97% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Rian Johnson earned a Best Original Screenplay Oscar nomination, and the film picked up numerous nominations including Critics Choice, Producers Guild of America, and Writers Guild of America awards.
