It’s all fun and games until Dave Bautista shows up at the door in the trailer for Knock at the Cabin. The two-and-a-half-minute trailer begins with a gay couple and their young daughter arriving for a fun getaway in the woods. However, since this is an M. Night Shyamalan film, their plans to relax and enjoy themselves will be short-lived.
In addition to Dave Bautista (the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise), the cast includes Tony award and Emmy nominee Jonathan Groff (Hamilton, Mindhunter), Ben Aldridge (Pennyworth), BAFTA nominee Nikki Amuka-Bird (Persuasion), Abby Quinn (Little Women), Rupert Grint (Servant), and newcomer Kristen Cui.
M. Night Shyamalan directed, produced, and co-wrote the screenplay with Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman. The thriller’s based on Paul Tremblay’s The Cabin at the End of the World, with Marc Bienstock and Ashwin Rajan producing and Steven Schneider, Christos V. Konstantakopoulos, and Ashley Fox executive producing.
Universal Pictures is targeting a February 3, 2023 theatrical release.
The Plot: While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.
