The Oscar buzz continues to build for the romantic musical La La Land starring Crazy, Stupid, Love co-stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. The new poster on display features praise from critics lucky enough to have caught an early screening, and the new trailer incorporates more of the music and lighter moments from the film. Written and directed by Oscar nominee Damien Chazelle, La La Land also stars J.K. Simmons (who won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Chazelle’s Whiplash), John Legend, Rosemarie DeWitt, Finn Wittrock, Callie Hernandez, Sonoya Mizuno, Jessica Rothe, Tom Everett Scott, and Josh Pence. Summit’s launching the film in theaters on December 9, 2016 in limited release followed by a wide release on December 16th.
The Plot: La La Land tells the story of Mia [Emma Stone], an aspiring actress, and Sebastian [Ryan Gosling], a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.
